Zara Hayes is a British filmmaker who works between the UK and USA in both drama and documentary and is currently living and based in the UK.
She directed the miniseries SHOWTRIAL, which aired on BBC One and AMC+ and recently wrote, directed and served as executive producer on THE KILLING KIND - a limited series for Paramount+ UK. Zara directed and co-wrote the movie POMS starring Diane Keaton, about a group of women who form a cheerleading squad at their retirement community - proving you’re never too old and it’s never too late, the acclaimed feature documentary BATTLE OF THE SEXES, about tennis player Billie Jean King, and the National Geographic series DIAN FOSSEY: SECRETS IN THE MIST. Her credits also include Netflix docuseries CAPTIVE, Channel 4’s true crime documentary 12 YEAR OLD LIFER and BBC Two’s CLOTHES TO DIE FOR.
Zara is currently in-house as a writer and executive producer for Eleventh Hour Films, working on a slate of her own original projects.
